My favorite by far. Smooth, always fresh and reasonable. Being in Michigan the taxes make it difficult to go outside of the local shops which all carry Captain Black

Classic, nostalgic and plain good

have sort of redirected me to tobaccos that are light and easy. My father, who was a lifelong pipeman, enjoyed Captain Black Royal very much. I never did. But I have found that it has filled the bill for me lately. The aroma is wonderful (classic and nostalgic pipe), it lights and burns easily, it is easy on the tongue, and while it is somewhat sweet, it still tastes like tobacco. And if you are a lot younger than me, you can grab a can of Captain Black, a large freehand danish pipe (I still have my dad’s 1970s Karl Erik), light it up and be transported in time to an era of leisure suits, “yacht rock” music and restaurants/lounges where pipe smoking was always welcomed! Smooth and aromatic

More than 20+ years of enjoying my pipe at my desk, car on my boat. Tried many, but this is the best and most accepted by people around me. Just wish they still have the 12oz cans.

Captain Black Royal is straightforward, cool burning and consistent throughout. The amazing tin note is matched only by the equally appealing room note. This blend reminds me of my Granddad every time I enjoy a bowl.
