About This Pipe Tobacco

Very Good - But I Let It Breath

e of Captain Black Gold I experienced the same sour, tangy, sweetness that SWR can present. However, unlike SWR, the sour-tangy (almost vinegar-like) flavor fades and I am left with the tangy sweetness expected from the cavendish. The very slight vanilla topping (casing maybe) helps to mellow out the blend. The tobacco seems to be a mix cut of ribbon and rough(?), has good moisture, packs, lights and stays lit easily. I like to let the tobacco breath a little beforehand, either in a valet or the pipe. I find this helps get rid of some of the overly-tangy vinegar I experienced without over drying. I will probably keep it in my rotation for now as it is growing on me the more I smoke it. As always, your mileage may vary as a smoker.
{ PS- At times it did threaten to bite, but I slowed my cadence and took smaller puffs, and that helped with heat and flavor. Also, as with most tobaccos it smokes differently in different pipes. For me it's the ebony pipe I use to smoke my Burleys. }...Read More
