Cornell & Diehl Autumn Evening
Of course, as in years past, one of our top choices for the fall is this C&D favorite. Best enjoyed, you guessed it, on autumn evenings, the straightforward, sweet aroma of maple syrup is instantly evocative of the blend's namesake. A blend that calls for being smoked around a bonfire on a crisp autumn night with good company and good drinks, even when smoked out of season.
Available in: 2oz | 8oz | 16oz | Bulk
"This is the only Aromatic I will buy. Like a campfire roasted marshmallow smothered in maple syrup. Absolutely delicious. And it tastes as good as it smells. I LOVE this blend." - Roger L., 5-star review at Smokingpipes

- Family: Aromatic
- Cut: Ribbon
Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation 4 Seasons Autumn Mixture
Perfectly fitting for fall smokes, the 4 Seasons Autumn Mixture is part of a new four-part release created to complement the seasons. This broken flake features Virginia, Perique, and Dark-Fired Kentucky, evoking the spirits of autumn bowl after bowl.
Available in: 50g
"Smoked in a Savinelli Texas Tradition Canadian; The 4th Generation 4 Seasons Autumn Mixture is a masterful ready-rubbed blend that captures the essence of fall in every puff, harmoniously intertwining the sweet, grassy brightness of matured Virginias with the robust, smoky depth of Dark-Fired Kentucky and a subtle, piquant whisper of Perique. Upon opening the tin, one is greeted by a rich, earthy aroma laced with hints of dark fruit and smoldering wood, evoking crisp autumn evenings. The broken flake cut, expertly pressed, offers a velvety texture that packs effortlessly, igniting into a slow, even burn that releases a complex symphony of flavors: the Virginias provide a natural sweetness with delicate bready undertones, while the Dark-Fired Kentucky imparts a bold, nutty, leathery, charred oak smokiness, tempered by the Perique's fleeting peppery zest and fig-like nuance. It delivers a balanced, contemplative smoke, its room note redolent of a forest hearth, making it an impeccable companion for introspective moments under a canopy of falling leaves. The nicotine is actually moderate with 2 - 2.5 out of 5." - James Marc. R., 5-star review at Smokingpipes
- Components: Virginia, Perique, Dark-Fired Kentucky
- Family: Virginia
- Cut: Broken Flake

"This blend is something almost mystical. It's definitely a hybrid of VA and English. It's somewhere in the middle. Smoky, meaty, bold, savory, and salty. The smoke is thick and chewy in the best way. Nice warming nicotine level. Burns perfectly out of the jar. Which might I add I love its jarred already. Burns down to dense grey and white ash. If you are looking for something that is unique and delicious, this is it. Now we have to wait for it to be restocked." - Dominick D., 5-star review at Smokingpipes
- Components: Virginia, Latakia, Dark-Fired Kentucky, Orientals
- Family: Virginia
- Cut:Flake
Rivertown Tobacco Works Mystic Moor
Rivertown Tobacco Works offers bulk pipe tobaccos spanning classic flavors and blend archetypes. Within their robust portfolio lurks this dark, sinuous blend that will enchant you through the shadowy depths of an ancient moor. Brave this mysterious blend of Latakia, Black Cavendish, and Virginia to be rewarded with bold, earthy flavors and subtle sweetness.
Available in: Bulk
"I am a big fan of Cornell and Diehl. I've never heard of this brand Rivertown. I like to browse around the site a lot. The names of the blends catch my eye like Cross Eyed Cricket which I like. I saw Mystic Moor and was intrigued, but it said English blend. I tried Super Value English Mixture and it's the only tobacco I really didn't like (it smelled like stinky socks) so I was hesitant about ordering it. Boy am I glad I did. Very smooth, slow, cool burning, the retrohale is great. Planning on ordering more on my next check day." - Larry M., 5-star review at Smokingpipes
- Components: Virginia, Latakia, Black Cavendish
- Family: English
- Cut: Ribbon
GH&Co. Coffee Caramel
A sweet treat from Gawith Hoggarth & Co. combines Black Cavendish with flavors of coffee and caramel, resulting in a smooth background and a deep aroma to pick you up in the afternoon, or awaken you in the morning hours of autumn.
Available in: 50g
"This might be Aromatic, but it is still unmistakably G&H — dark, strong, and straightforward. If you know G&H Rum Flake, this is similar, but with an even more subtle aromatic hint of caramel instead of rum. Sticky out of the tin but still burns well. The smoke is consistent straight through and never goes away from the big, earthy dark flake with a wisp of caramel and slight mineral bitterness around the edges. Solidly in style for the brand, and won't appeal to everyone." - Douglas F., 4-star review at Smokingpipes
- Components: Black Cavendish
- Family: Aromatic
- Cut: Shag
Two Friends English Chocolate
A luxurious blend of fine Red and Bright Virginias and Turkish Latakia, pressed to marry the flavors and tumbled into broken flakes. When smoked, this decadent mixture will transport you to a state of creamy cocoa bliss.
"This is another daily smoker for me. It's a damn good English with just a hint of chocolate. It always seems to burn just right and that very faint hint of chocolate just gives it a nice difference to any other good English I smoke." - James P., 5-star review at Smokingpipes
- Components: Virginia, Latakia
- Family: English Aromatic
- Cut: Broken Flake

Comments
Not too business centric. 7 out of 10 blends belong to Smoking pipes.com!!! Surely you could haver gone 50/50?? At least your bias isn't obvious!
You sound awfully desperate to bitch and moan. It would make better business sense to recommend 100 percent of tobaccos sold through the site. Is the meaning of a newsletter completely lost in your daft haze?
Well I think you got the room note for Autumn Evening wrong, every one who smell the smoke says in smell very pleasant and you rate it 1 ??
Great list! I also love during the Autumn: Amphora Burley, Presbyterian, Arango Balkan Supreme, and Two Friends English Chocolate. Check em out!
@John: what would you have included that we didn’t? By the way, I count five made by Cornell & Diehl or imported by Laudisi. Four are Mac Baren or Sutliff, one is STG.
As a cigar enthusiast who is now learning/enjoying the world of pipe and pipe tobaccos, these articles offer good suggestions. The Cornell & Diehl Autumn Evening and Night Train sound intriguing. I will have to purchase those tobaccos eventually.
