I had high hopes that this would be my new go-to Latakia/oriental blend. However, it seems to be about average in tin note and flavor. Nothing about it stood out for me as far as flavor goes. I’ll stick with Quiet Nights.

I ordered 1 ounce from the bulk menu. Star of the East takes its place in the top of my rotation hands down. Aroma of Latakia jumps right out of the bag. Great flavor from char to the bottom. Spicy and smoky.

For me, a three-star rating is middle of the road. It means I can enjoy it from time to time, and I will probably finish the tin/bag. I won't throw it away and never smoke it again, but whether I'll buy it again is iffy. I was not a huge fan of this one because the blend seemed off, unbalanced. Maybe I'll wait a year and try it again, but it's not a priority. It would definitely not be one of my desert-island selections....Read More

A pleasant Latakia blend

An excellent blend aromatic but without fruity or sweet notes. This tobacco has body and a wood like aroma without being strong. It’s a smooth smoke with a good draw and stays lit without much effort. It will certainly become one of my favourites.

This tobacco is to me an entrance into a sublime state. Perfectly (to my taste) balanced, spicy orientals (even if they dont list on the label is tastes like it) that linger in the mouth, one reviewer mentioned incense, cant think of a better comparison. I smoke it while camping, while reading the psalms, early in the morning, late at night, it never disappoints. Not overpowering, but makes its presence known. Delicious....Read More
