Mystery Cigar Review: January 2023
Welcome back to the Mystery Cigar Review. For this inaugural episode of 2023, we invited a very special guest to serve as our Mystery Inquisitor: He's a visual artist, Sommelier, adventure traveler, Range Rover enthusiast, and the founder of Black Label Trading Company — Mr. James Brown. We had the privilege of hosting James at our brick-and-mortar store Low Country Pipe & Cigar during a recent event, when he also selected one mystery cigar for Truett, Tyler, and I to review in a blind taste test. Did we get it right? Or did James' exacting palate win out? Watch the full video to find out.
About Black Label Trading Company
Black Label Trading Co. is a boutique cigar company with its own factory, Oveja Negra, in Estelí, Nicaragua. Focusing on small-batch production, each cigar is blended with select vitolas in mind, prioritizing flavor and construction; Oveja Negra even limits the number of cigars produced to ensure maximum quality. Cigars from Black Label Trading Company and its sister brand, BLK WKS Studio, boast full-bodied profiles, complex flavors, and distinct tobaccos from Nicaragua, Ecuador, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Mexico, Indonesia, and the Dominican Republic.
What is The Mystery Cigar Review?
For those of you unfamiliar with this little game, each month one member of our team selects a cigar for us to review in a blind taste-test. Then we gather around the camera, scratch our heads, and smoke, all while attempting to guess components, origins, and name. There's only one rule: There are no rules.
