About This Pipe
The late Bjarne was best known for flying into the U.S. and renting a car for his annual tour-de-pipes. I first met the man in Lafayette, Indiana when he was showing his wares at my local pipe and cigar store. The owner greeting me on my way in to pick up some of their house-blended tobacco and said I should take a peek at what that man had sitting down. I'll admit that seeing a tower of trays was overwhelming at first. He was so kind and I purchased my first new pipe right then and there. His uncanny ability for memory always was noticed. I would run into him in Chicago and he would not only remember where he met me, but what I purchased. He never remembered my name, but always called me "Mr.Lafayette" and extended his hand.
This fine piece is an example of the upper peak of his company's production. Straight grain runs all over this beauty and the silver accent is most desirable.
