About This Pipe

This Dunhill tanshell is one of the few shapes in the world that really doesn't have a shank. Early smokers made wooden pipes with reeds stuck in the side much like this modern example. Due to the chamber being reamed to a large diameter (please see condition statement) the coloring of this tanshell more resembles a well loved meerschaum. The rim is dark, drifting into oily browns and golds - pretty cool. Because the chamber has been reamed, resulting in less briar, this sits with the aid of the button.
