Castello Collection Fiammata Billiard (KK) (2008) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Though the Castello Collection series was born with the company in 1947, it wasn't until 1960 that Carlo Scotti felt the need to honor pipes that carried exceptional straight grain with a "Fiammata" designation (heretofore, a Collection KKKK was as upgrade as the marque ran). The 61 that sits within the castle on the stamping indicates that this pipe was created in 2008 (the numbers within the castle are added to the year of Castello's start-up date, '47'). Absent "Greatline" (a stamp that began seeing use in the mid-seventies) as a precursor, you can count on a Collection Fiammata presenting a classic shape and this Northern Italian billiard interpretation is a dandy.
