About This Pipe
Although we've certainly seen plenty of Freehands from Ardor, I can't recall coming across one of this style previously. Though the proportions are heavier, the aesthetic definitely displays elements reminiscent of certain Danish Freehands, albeit modified - especially so when it comes to adapting the flaring shank and rather softly-shaped bowl to make the briar work as a steady sitter. Aside from the fact that it does, indeed, sit very soundly, one of my favorite features of this piece is quite simply how naturally it rests in hand, the slightly canted bowl and pinched, elongated transition proving themselves as ergonomically friendly as can be.
