About This Pipe
It would be difficult to find a better confessor to the Bill Ashton-Alfred Dunhill connection than to see such a "windshield" billiard as this. The shape itself originates from Dunhill's beginnings making accessories for the owners of early "motor cars", and Ashton himself of course had his beginnings as a teenage assistant around the Dunhill workshop. It's an unusual form, and though its functionality might be somewhat antiquated in an age of automobiles that can break 30mph (and which typically feature roofs and windows, for that matter), the history behind it will always remain.
