About This Pipe

Two eggs grace this little batch of seven pipes that I'm currently describing (and will, in a few minutes, be available for your perusal and purchase; according to Alyson, who has threatened to send her description enforcers down the hall to my office if I don't get these done quickly, I'm presently 23 hours and 18 minutes behind schedule with these descriptions). Both feature lovely swan like shanks, but are surprisingly different when closely considered. I love seeing pipes like this side-by-side because it makes clear how, in the hands of a truly talented pipe maker like Benni Jorgensen, nearly identical shapes can take on strikingly different characters in spite of their broad, overarching similarities.

This highlight upright bent egg sports a long, sweeping modified-rounded-saddle stem, a thin sweeping shank that pinches as it progresses into the bowl and a tall egg shaped bowl with a lovely demarcation between the sides and front, further highlighted by the striking ring grain that echo the shape of this demarcating edge.
