About This Pipe
Sporting a very nice, extremely tight sandblast that articulates both the horizontal and vertical grain, this long shanked bent billiard sports a fascinating round-moving-to-oval shank as it progresses towards the bowl. I feel almost silly mentioning this, but this is a pretty extreme example of something I really like from Castello. The nomenclature panel on sandblasts and rusticated pipes is so perfectly laid out and harmoniously integrated into the finish that I can't help but comment on it. In this case, it's particularly long because of the remarkable length of the shank. Another maker would have just not bothered after the first inch or two he needed. Castello takes it right to the middle bottom of the bowl. Plus the red stain complements the lovely brownish red of the sandblast.
