About This Pipe
Personally, I am delighted to see Claudio doing more work with the traditional crosscut and birdseye patterns. I began to notice the increase on some of the Danish inspired esoteric shapes and now we see what I tend to think of as the traditional English placement on the older classic shapes. The rim, heel, front and back of the bowl, as well as the sides of the shank boast a tight, angel hair fine straight grain and, as expected, "The sides are alive, with the sound of Birdseye" (sorry, a Rogers & Hammerstein moment). This is a lovely acquisition for the aficionado of traditional form and grain.
