About This Pipe
The 2012 'Pipe of the Year' is the latest installment of the yearly endeavor to produce unique pipes that display Peterson's continued striving for excellence in pipe design. This year's edition bears a close resemblance to the Diplomat shape in its shank and transition, yet sports a very stout Brandy-style bowl, as opposed to the Prince-style one of the standard Diplomat. The piece is pampered throughout its crafting, from selecting the best briar, to an individual sterling silver band, and in this case a semi-gloss, jet-black stain called the Ebony finish. The piece is a perfect sitter shape, and is completed with a saddle stem cut from vulcanite for a soft feel in jaw.
