Sandblasted Pot Tobacco Pipe

The beautiful ring grain sandblast that graces this straight pot shape has just enough variance to keep it interesting. For example, I love the near-swirl of rings on the bottom-front-right of the bowl (visible in the second photo) where the rings seem to pinch together for a moment before rounding back out at their original spacing. I love the stain here too; the rich dark red stain is beautiful, the perfect complement to this sandblast and shape. The pairing of the oval shank to the bowl reminds me some of Jess Chonowitsch, but the bowl itself isn't terribly Jess-like, making the combination of the two, which works perfectly, all the more interesting. All in all, another extraordinary pipe from my friend from Oregon!
