Sandblasted Kimihide Author Tobacco Pipe

When I think of an Author I think of. well, stuffy writer's mostly. But when I think of an Author in the context of pipe shapes, old English brands and their corresponding forms and finishes are usually what spring to mind foremost. Today, it seems the Author has fallen out of fashion somewhat with both pipe smokers and pipe makers. This presupposition, however, certainly doesn't detract from the notion that the Author can be a really cool looking pipe. And that goes for this Kimihide Author, named after the Japanese collector who first commissioned the shape based on his design. Sporting a rather fat, almost Italian inspired ball-shaped bowl and the traditional extra-chubby bent shank, this design, here masterfully crafted in the hands of Brad Pohlmann, perfectly examples a new twist on an old favorite.
