About This Pipe

This lovely straight cutty shape is the first pipe of Scott's to be described on Smokingpipes.com. I first met Scott at the 2011 Chicago Pipe Show. Our mutual friend and famous pipe maker Alex Florov introduced us as he wanted me to see what Scott had been doing. Alex has served as a mentor to Scott for some time now and wanted me to add my feedback to his own. For such a young guy (Scott is in his early 20s), I was really impressed. He wasn't ready then, but I gave him a list of things I thought he should work on (which were mostly really minor, but important, details) and he sent me photos as an update a couple of weeks ago. I was very impressed and decided I really wanted his work for Smokingpipes.com.

This cutty shape, with its clean Danish-inspired lines, has much to commend it. Scott left a patch of plateau on the bottom front of the bowl, something of a nod towards Japan, which I quite like. The blast is excellent, with nice rings running vertically with the lines of the bowl.
