About This Pipe
Once you have handled enough of a given pipe maker's product, you start to develop preferences within his shaping aesthetic. I still haven't arrived at my definitive "desert island" Ser Jacopo shape, but I am getting it narrowed down to either his Kalabash or apple/ball shapes. Giancarlo has a wonderful way with the sphere, and creates a perfect shank and juxtaposition to complement the form. This rusticated bent apple is finished, to perfection, by a fine piece of horn inlaid within the bit.
