About This Pipe
This Picta is the fourth in the series by Giancarlo Guidi that pays homage to the pipes portrayed in the works of master Vincent Van Gogh, and one of only two sitter-shapes within the entire line of Van Gogh Pictas. Inspired by artist's "Head of a Peasant with a Pipe", painted in Nuenen in 11/1885, the rim of this calabash is highly accentuated and the shank has a pleasing taper all the way down to a wedding band of sterling at the mount. In between there is as lovely of a sandblasted grain as a man could wish for. No wonder the Picta series are always such perennial best sellers.
