Smooth Bent Ball (Lion) Tobacco Pipe

Although of an obviously Danish character, with its remarkably smooth form and minimalist style of line, this Lasse "Lion" lends itself a much firmer, more muscular impression than you would typically associate with the relatively supple, submissive Danish Modern aesthetic. As wonderfully smooth and comfortable as it may be in hand, this is a shape which imposes itself aesthetically, and particularly so in profile. This is not merely a result of the sturdier sense of proportions at play, but also of a very solidly upright presentation of the bowl - where most Danish Modern designs gently lift the bowl upward, this one positively thrusts it upward, boldly making show of both the beautifully balanced form, and the exquisite flame grain and birdseye found on flanks and underside, respectively, alike.
