Sandblasted Bent Dublin Tobacco Pipe

I caught myself starting to say something to the effect that this pipe represented a fairly profound departure for Tokutomi-san, then I pulled up short. This dublin is merely closer in some ways to the dublins that he was creating circa 2004 than one of 2008. A host of poignant counterpoints and mirrors that have become one of the essences of Tokutomi's work appear, as one moves around, over and under the composition. Much like an echo of sound, the form of the rim repeats smaller and subtly changes upon return on the rim, and yet again with the reduction of the body and subsequent flare on the shank.
