getting lost in the other. It must be the Virginia that adds some sweetness as well as the plum casing. The Burley rounds it out and gives some body to the smoke. Warm and creamy, with rich sweetness with faint Virginia yellow grass. A slight millisecond of bitter from maybe some Burley on false light out. I quite like this blend. A little bit of the Burley for some nuttiness along with Latakia smoothing it out with a little smoke and coolness while there is a mild influx of sweetness. I can sense the Perique in there, but I am not getting any of the characteristic tingle or sting in the nose or on the tongue for any spice (it may come later down the bowl - some just barely at times). Some almost vanilla in there with the sweetness, creaminess is there for sure, slightly on the verge of 50/50 popsicle at times. I have never tried the original Revelation, but this is a great tobacco. Enjoying the variations of flavor, the mild casing along with some Latakia and sweetness. Finally even a little Perique nip pops in there too. Nice and fulfilling smoke.
This is good for any time, and I am glad I took a shot at it. Mild burning, can be heated up, but a smooth normal cadence should not be a problem. I am freight training this a bit while exploring the flavors and not feeling any bite other than a tingle here and there, with a good after taste that has lots of sweetness verging toward orange. Minimal if any relights necessary. Not a moisture maker, and burns down to a small ash with one tiny chunk of dottle (user error). I'll have to reorder a pound to have on hand. It's good stuff, and I might like Presbyterian more (and its Match), but this is good to have on hand for changing things up a bit. not too much of any one thing. For that reason, I sort of view it as in a class all its own - it’s not really an aromatic English or an American English or whatever monikers we try to assign blends. It’s just good. Enough sweetness to appeal to aromatic smokers as something different but enough Latakia and body to appease smokers of heavier blends. If I had to smoke only 1 blend, this would be it.
As I’m writing, this is not in the top 50 or whatever, and that scares me because there seems to be some portfolio consolidation going on. Please buy this. I think a lot of smokers these days avoid blends like this because they either want dessert or they think they have to smoke English and VA flakes to be real/serious pipers. Please try this - it is pure nirvana…you just might have a revelation. Read Less

with some faint sweet citrus underneath. The smell is very pleasant and what you think a good tobacco should smell like. I was not very impressed with the cut and that really held the enjoyment back. It's listed as a ribbon cut, but that is fairly misleading. There is a little bit of everything in there. I found ribbon, cubes, big leafy rough cuts, stems, pieces pressed together, etc.. I had to pick some apart and rub some pieces out in order to get a bit that was easy to pack. Otherwise a stem would get sideways and create a gap in the packing. Once you get everything fairly uniform, it will pack better and burn more evenly. As for the taste, it is mildly nutty, sweet, and floral. No component really dominates but you can pick each one out if you are looking for them. There is a little bit of latakia smokey, a little bit of floral, a little bit of virginia sweet, a little bit of burley nuttyness...you get the picture. Personally, it's not a go to for me, but I'll probably always have an ounce or so laying around. Read Less

Wow this is better than the HOW version and the RJ Reynolds versions I had in the past. Slightly smokey, a bit sour, and lots of natural sweetness. The topping really propels this blend and makes a very nice taste and room note. I love this stuff !

uot;hot air" you expect from Sutliff aromatics, this is an "all day smoker" I imagine, there's just no bite and no problem with too much flavor or nicotine, most of the flavor seems to be from the Latakia/Kentucky parts, but there are subtle burley tastes with very light almost unnoticable traces of perique and virginia. , but it's interesting. The mixed cuts make for easy packing, easy lighting, cool burning. What's more is that it's not too strong so you can smoke more than one bowl without blowing out your tastebuds or burning out your palate. It won't coat your whole mouth in tar, so you can go on tasting it with each successive bowl. The room note is not intolerable either. It's not top shelf, but definitely not bottom shelf either. One pipe full of this and all of that is gone. I feel the same way about this blend that I feel about my cigarettes. I could smoke this everyday allday.
I won't - and I'll still have my other exotic and niche blends. But this, the warmth, the sweet cocoa notes, the easy to pack cut, all of it is very comfortable. Read Less

The tin note was bland and unremarkable in any particular. I could not identify any particular component by the smell. Nor did it seem to have any flavor beyond a tinge of brown sugar sweetness. The smoke, of medium volume, was a bit "rougher," if you will: more ashy than creamy, and I am sure that affected my overall impression of its taste. It burned on the edge of hot as well, but remained under control.
None of the components stick out in the smoke either. There's no smokiness from the Latakia, no fruit or tingle from the Perique, no dark flavor from the Kentucky, and little from the Virginia. I get a little nuttiness from the Burley, combined with that vague sweetness mentioned above, but little else.
2.5 stars because I imagine that this blend will work wonders for some smokers, and I recommend it on the basis of other reviews. It just did not do it for me.

In like manner, as I smoked this, time slowed to a crawl as I contemplated how I had managed to find a tobacco that smells like a nun emptied a can of her toilet spray in a truck stop rest room. Still, I toughed it out for until it needed a relight after about a half-hour, only to realize it had only been about 15 seconds and I still needed to tamp it. The phrase “throw up in your mouth “takes on new meaning, especially since the flavor tastes like Old Spice and a rotting peach had a two-headed tobacco love-child named Revelation. Pretty much unsmokable. But I will give one-half star for the fruit cake aftertaste. That said, those who like aromatics that remind them of their wives’ scented bath salts, then this is for you.
