About This Pipe Tobacco
Cornell and Diehl's Anthology 1992-2022 was released as a celebration of 30 years of innovation and accomplishment, featuring a combination of tobaccos that paid tribute to the blending house's history by hearkening back to key blends within their portfolio: using select tobacco from those blends to create something unique. Anthology 2023 is a bit different, not only being a pure Virginia blend as opposed to the original's Virginia/Perique, but celebrating the year of its release as the 31st anniversary of Cornell & Diehl. Consisting solely of exceptional Red Virginia grades, the blend comprises 2013 Steamed Virginia Reds, 2019 North Carolina Reds, 2022 North Carolina Reds, and 2019 Georgia Reds that are treated with Cornell & Diehl's proprietary stoving process and sliced into flakes. What results is a sophisticated and complex blend that retains a robust stoutness while delivering richly sweet and tangy notes of earth, crushed allspice, black currant, and rich dark molasses, all in a package primed for aging. Available in limited quantities, Anthology 2023 is an elegant mixture whose refined characteristics admirably commemorate its namesake year.
