As it says on the tin, Mac Baren's HH Pure Virginia is pure Virginia, flue-cured and sourced from regions with the highest reputations for producing leaf of this type. As with other HH-family blends, this thin-cut flake is made without any topping and only a minimal casing, for a natural sweetness and a purely Virginia experience.

Just a good Virginia

As with all pure Virginias, there is no complexity or depth, but a consistent bready, grassy sweetness from start to finish. Burns well and remains consistent from char to the very end. I would highly recommend. Best to let it sit for about 6 or more months before smoking.

It's a good Virginia. I probably wouldn't normally pick it over some other Virginias like PS400, but it's not bad at all. Glad I could grab some before it's gone forever.

Flavors are typical Virginia profile, mild bready sweetness, grassy, and boring to most, just fine for me. I don't want overly price tins of Virginia tobaccos or any tobaccos that are simply amped up with flavorings to get the nod of acceptance. Minimal sugar casing, I want my tobacco in the most unaltered form I can get sans growing my own. HH Line is my go to pipe tobacco. Most who enjoy this suggest two years age, I agree, it develops more flavor that way, i have noticed more hot air grassy and less sweet bready when under a year and a half. Open bulk boxes immediately and put in Ball jars or equivalent sealed container, document the box date and write jarred date. Fold and Stuff in a tall bowl....Read More
