Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
Dark brown, shaggy flake with a strong scent of fresh corn tortilla (to me - you may smell something completely different). Smokes well damp and straight out of the tin. This is a man's tobacco here. Not light on strength of flavor or nicotine. O... Read More

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
It says *flake”, but these almost black flakes are so loose, velvety and fluffy that it is much more a Broken Flake Cut, very easy to rub out. On opening a new tin, first you get a slap on the face by a strong flavour of tonka bean. Since Samuel Gawi... Read More

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
This is one of my favorites. Everything works well with with this blend. Room note, flavor and vitamin N levels are all superb. When I first tried it years ago I did not like it because I could not keep it lit. I don't have that problem anymore.

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
A great end of the day smoke. My only issue is the chore of keeping it lit. That being said, pair it with a good scotch, a good book, and an evening on the porch and you have yourself a winning combo.
An excellent mixture

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
This is my daily smoke flake. It comes wet, so let it dry out a little. I buy it in the 250g packages, I cut the flakes in half and put the flakes in to jars and let them age for a year. Use the fold and stuff method to pack. This is a strong smoke. ... Read More

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
This is a very satisfying smoke. It does really well, rubbed out in a tiny bowl. I've smoked it a tad wet and properly dried. The result is the same, fantastic smoke. I will purchase more for the cellar. I'm confident this one will mellow and sw... Read More

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
When I opened the tin, the first thing I noticed was the wetness of it. The smell of the Tonquin immediately rose up from the tin, giving it an interesting aroma. I took out a flake and let it dry for about 6 hours. Being as it was a coolish night... Read More

Taste: Full Bodied. You get a thick flavorful smoke. Strength: Full strength. The tonquin flavor is really the star of the show. Moisture Level: WET WET WET. Will I recommend?: I don't know. And that is the reason for the poor rating. I have tried to... Read More

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
This tobacco had a really strong smell and full bodied flavor. If you value your friendship with other non-smokers don't smoke this near them. They don't know what they are missing though. Really well made tobacco.

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
Very high quality tobacco, exceptionally strong, and obviously designed to be smoked very, very slowly. Best saved for after a large meal. It will be interesting to see how this ages.

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
From my first tin over eight years ago I was hooked, from the tin aroma to room note to taste it's a grand trifecta for me. If you can tolerate the tonquin casing which is quite deep, it can be really impressive whether moist right out of the tin or ... Read More

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
One of my top three 'go to' tobaccos. I find it to be very cool burning, flavorful, and relaxing. Has a kick for sure, and you need to be ready for it. Burns to a wonderful white ash. Flavor is truly one of a kind, subtle, and enjoyable.

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
I enjoy the stuff. Plenty of flavor, good nicotine content for an almost medicinal calming effect. It needs to be savored. Smoke it slowly sitting down when all you have to do is reflect on the smoke and unwind. It is fairly complex to my palate, ric... Read More

Product: Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake 50g
This is a savory tobacco, with the tonquin bean really being the defining characteristic. It comes very wet, and needs a day or two of drying (in my experience). I have to rough it up a bit to get more air going through it into the bowl, but it's got... Read More
