About This Pipe

American artisan Clarence Mickles lived in Park Forest, Illinois, and was a staple at the Chicago Pipe Show until his passing in 2001. This Billiard by Mickles is a neoclassic design that sees a tall, upright bowl posed proudly at the fore of an arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement. The bowl houses a capacious tobacco chamber, formed by walls that reach high from a rounded heel to a flat rim, making it almost Stack-like in profile. Married to the bowl is a low-set shank that pairs to a tapering stem of black acrylic. The stummel is adorned with a chestnut-hued rustication, a finishing style that Mickles is well-known for, providing a wealth of tactile detail to enjoy while smoking.
