Carved Dragon (Ali) (with Case) Tobacco Pipe

While we often see the dragon motif in meerschaum pipe making, it's usually a "dragon claw clutching" or the full-bodied but small serpent breathing fire carved into one or two flanks of a bowl. In this alluring presentation from AKB, however, we see the low-slung, but raised head and neck of a stretched-out dragon, its flaring nostrils, nearly-closed maw and spiky scales all carved with careful attention to detail. It's a neat departure and will certainly be even more interesting when it takes on the warm tones of patination as it's smoked over time and is topped here by an amber-hued stem adorned with stylish expansion discs.
