About This Pipe
At a glance of the shank and stem, it's easy enough to see why this shape is considered a Liverpool, and yet at a closer look you may detect the slightest of downward tapers to the bowl. My guess would be that this design has its origins as a straight, long-shanked version of a distinctly old-French sort of bent Billiard (still made by Sebastien Beo, and also having shown up in the Ropp Etudiant line) where the bowl is likewise rather cylindrical, firm-heeled, and very lightly tapered.
