About This Pipe
Founded in 1983 by William "Bill" Ashton-Taylor, who worked as a Dunhill apprentice, the Ashton workshop is lauded for its incredibly high standards of quality and mastery of classic English design principles. Jimmy Craig currently heads the company, having taken up the mantle after Bill's passing in 2009. Since then, he has sustained the Ashton legacy by steadfastly following the founder's philosophy of equally prioritizing all parts of the pipe, and utilizing only the best materials and most pristine finishing.
This paneled Poker from the English marque is handsomely carved, with a crisp, architectural silhouette and a flat, sure-sitting heel that's sure to cement this offering as a loyal desk companion. The tall bowl houses a generous chamber, and the walls' height offer a secure in-hand presence. Out back, the lengthy shank offers plenty of space to comfortably drape a digit, and the sleek saddle stem offers a comfortable clench. Dressed in the craggy, earthy finish of Ashton's Pebble Grain series, the stummel offers a wealth of tactile detail for the fingers to appreciate.
