About This Pipe
This bent Billiard from Castello pairs a hearty bowl of Italian neoclassical proportions to a comparatively trim shank-and-stem arrangement. The tall, thick-walled bowl features a broad rim that favors the fore a touch over the aft, a plump, full-bodied heel, and a good bit of chamber capacity. Out back, the upturned shank extends from the low-set transition and tapers gradually into the arcing mouthpiece of jet-black acrylic. As denoted by the workshop's "Pi" stamp, this piece is dressed in a dual finish, with most of the stummel wearing the dark, craggy Sea Rock rustication while the heel and underside of the stummel are smooth and stained a warm, honey-blonde color. The floral-like design as well as the dual use of finished make this piece a delight to hold, and the bowl's rounded form offers plenty of space for wrapping fingers.
