About This Pipe
In Group 3 size, this "06" Pot features the broad, stout disposition often associated with the shape but with a slightly lifted heel that lends the piece a bit of forward momentum. The trim shank extends from the neat, low-slung transition before giving way to a sleek saddle stem of jet-black vulcanite. It's a streamlined, refined rendition of the shape that would make a welcome addition to any collector's rotation, especially for those who favor lightweight yet firm designs.
A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
