A second-generation Danish pipe maker, Kai Nielsen has been surrounded by pipes since an early age. His father, Viggo, founded the Bari factory in 1948, and Kai officially joined the production team at 21. After the factory closed in 1975, Viggo began crafting Faaborg pipes alongside his brother Jørgen, and eventually partnered with his father again until Viggo passed away in 2009. Today, equipped with decades of experience, Kai fashions pipes under his own name, ranging from sleek renditions of classic shapes to playfully plump Nosewarmers. Most of Nielsen's pipes are graded in ascending order from one to four "V" stamps, while the Jewel of Denmark line represents his finest work, graded in descending order from D to A.
