About This Pipe
The Pot is an inherently muscular shape, the bowl prioritizing breadth over height and often displaying a thick-walled substance in hand. When rendered from Peterson, though, the shape exhibits even more muscularity. The Irish marque's aesthetic is conventionally characterized as stout and hearty, and it's exemplified in Peterson's "01" bent Pot — the shank and transition echoing the robustness of the bowl, while remaining well balanced thanks to the stem's quarter bend.
Similar to the Donegal Rocky series, Peterson's Derry line dresses pipes in a rugged rustication, but instead of a jet-black mouthpiece, the Derry features an acrylic stem of swirling chocolate and caramel tones. Named after the second largest city in Ireland, known for its distinctively hilly topography, this series appropriately dresses the stummel of each piece in a craggy, well-textured rustication with an earthy walnut stain over top. A bright nickel army mount completes the presentation, offering some aesthetic flash and allowing the pipe to be broken down easily for cleaning.
