Tyrone (120) Fishtail Tobacco Pipe

A straight Dublin in classic Peterson style, the "120" features a more subtle flare toward the rim compared to other renditions and maintains the Irish marque's conventionally hearty and robust proportions. The profile displays an upright stance with little forward cant, and the firm heel results in a substantial presence in hand. First released in the early 1990s, Peterson's Tyrone series was named for County Tyrone in Northern Ireland, a historical region originally called Tír Eoghan, "Land of Eoghan" in the Irish language. The Tyrone line was discontinued in the early '00s, but Peterson resurrected the series in 2021 with modern appointments and a fresh finish. Like the originals, new Tyrone pipes bear a smooth finish and trim brass accents but trade the earlier version's walnut stain for the Irish marque's dark and smoky Heritage finish. Like Peterson's Aran Smooth and Killarney series, the Tyrone offers pipes in a smooth finish and distinctive, traditional color palette at an accessible price, but is distinguished from the chestnut stain of the Aran and the Red and Ebony versions of the nickel-accented Killarney.
