Autograph Smooth Bent Brandy (6) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph series pipes are each handmade by a single one of a talented team of artisans who are able to let their imagination dictate the design of the pipes they make, not beholden to a shape chart. That being said, this bent Brandy is quite a bit more subdued in profile than many of the other pieces in this line, and this reserved, slightly more classic character works to this pipe's benefit. The stem here is quite handsome, a demurely downturned taper of black acrylic, and pushes out of an upward-angling shank that lends the stem a comfortable smoking posture. The transition is fairly wide, offering more than enough room to drape a thumb, and sweeps into the aft wall of the bowl easily, while the fore wall arcs as it reaches toward the rim. This visually bolsters the fore wall as a whole, urging it forward a bit and drawing attention to the consistent undercurve present from the button to the rim. Dressing this piece is a warm, smooth finish that reveals handsome licks of windswept flame grain across the tall bowl and through the shank.
