About This Pipe
Savinelli's "614" is the Italian marque's most deeply bent shape, resembling the classic Oom Paul. The shank curls upward, almost vertically, making for a compact length that hangs comfortably from the jaw, and the stretched heel and rounded Billiard bowl sits naturally in hand. Aligning more with traditional English proportions, the shank and transition are on the stouter end compared to some of Savinelli's Italian neoclassic shapes — an excellent choice for those interested in an Italian-made, hands-free smoker but desiring a form with more English sensibilities.
Meaning "honey" in Italian, Savinelli's Miele line recalls its namesake through the use of a golden color palette and crystalline visual texture — the stummel wearing a rich, mahogany rustication and being paired to an acrylic stem that resembles the mosaic-like structure of honeycomb. Furthermore, the chamber has been treated with a honey extract, promoting a sweet-smoking break-in period, and it all comes complete with a wooden tamper in the shape of a honey dipper.
