About This Pipe
Founded in 1848 by Karl Ellenberger and Carl August Zeiner, Vauen is Germany's oldest pipe factory and the birthplace of the 9mm pipe filter — an innovation that has since become standard across most of the marque's designs. Vauen's Siena line pays homage to the ancient Italian city of the same name and the mountainous terrain that surrounds it. The series captures this rugged topography with a collection of pipes, each made from larch wood and fitted with a briar chamber insert, preserving traditional smoking characteristics in a modern medium. Additionally, these Siena offerings are sandblasted, accented with brass, and topped by a yellow mouthpiece. The line's rich aesthetics are represented here by this "33" bent Billiard.
--Davin HyltonNote: While all of our other pipes are photographed individually, these are not, and you may expect some reasonable cosmetic variation between the example we've photographed and the pipe you've received.
