Cornell & Diehl - Opening Night 2oz
A solid, basic VA smoke
I'm a serial enjoyer of VA flakes. Opening Night is an uncomplicated but pretty satisfying example of the breed. Lighting a bowl, I tend to get the expected VA fruitiness but also a hint of a kind of bitter burley flake, which is not unpleasant. I've finished my second fresh tin of this and I find myself drying it out indoors for a few hours on a paper towel, then rubbing it out. I also find myself using this as the basis for a blend as it's rather monochromatic by itself. I have had good luck adding oriental-forward blends like Gray Ghost and even Burley Flake and Briar Fox to spice it up a bit.
