Orlik - Golden Sliced 50g
One of the best
A tobacco that lives up to its reputation. In any circle of enthusiasts, Orlik comes highly recommended and well-regarded for its quality and performance. A subtle citrus aroma dominates the room note without being harsh or overpowering; the notes of a fine Virginia are clearly present, complemented by the Perique. Its pressing and subsequent presentation as flakes are exquisite.

Fantastic
Today, I’m featuring my favorite aromatic. I bought it partly based on the comments here on Smokingpipes, and I opened it without expecting much. It turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. It has a cherry and chocolate aroma, but it isn't overpowering. Once lit, the flavors maintain that same profile without biting the tongue, and the nicotine level remains low all the way to the end. It’s an excellent tobacco, but since it is an aromatic, it’s not really an everyday smoke

Amazing
I was startled when this tin arrived, as it was completely bulged. I assumed something was wrong with the tobacco. Only after delving deeper did I realize the Perique had continued fermenting inside, producing a highly distinctive and profound tobacco. The dominant aroma was that of a beautiful dark beer—a Doppelbock, or perhaps a Founders Backwoods Bastard. Notes of chocolate, coffee, and molasses abound. These notes fill the air, making for a very pleasant room note. The smoke is dense and creamy, without biting the tongue. It is one of the best tobaccos I have ever tried.

For my first experience with GL Pease, I chose Chelsea Morning—drawn by its reputation as a "first smoke of the day" blend, which led me to expect something lighter and smoother, almost like an aromatic without actually being one. However, my first impression upon opening the tin was different. Not in a bad way—quite the opposite. A smoky aroma fills the air, evoking the feeling of sitting by a fireplace. It is a full-bodied tobacco—perfectly balanced—with richer, denser notes. It offers a fascinating tasting experience from start to finish. I recommend it, though perhaps not as a morning smoke.
