Smoky yumminess!
I've really started enjoying English and Balkan blends and some youtuber suggested this, so I bought it as a "why not". I got the tin and opened it and you could just smell the smoky goodness from the tin and it looked like it had been aged for awhile, which looking at the tin it was from May of 2022. This was and amazing experience. I don't have the pipe community vocabulary to express this, but what was interesting was that it wasn't the traditional English/Balkan experience I had come to expect. Either the brand or the aging on this gave it an enjoyable salty smoky taste that I couldn't get enough of. I felt like I was sitting in front of a campfire just getting that whole earthy enjoyment of being in front of the fire and relaxing. The after taste is amazing! I kept licking my lips for the salty smoky goodness that if left. Nothing harsh, just an amazing smoke! I've bought more, because this is an everyday English for me.

Yummy Burginia with an enjoyable spicy and cocoa twist!
Quite a nice surprise. I saw Perique on this and was hesitant, because so far, most of the vendors that I've tried that have Perique on them just plain over do it and ruin the tobacco. For some reason all the HU products seem to know how to do Perique right or they at least have a special Perique, not sure, but this was just right. Just a fun Burley/Virginia that wasn't overwhelmed with the Perique. It had a hint of cocoa that just kept popping throughout the bowl giving it a enjoyable spicy, chocolatey, smoky, Burley that kept making me say "yum" during the smoke. Its not an everyday smoke, but its certainly a nice change of pace in a Burley rotation. Careful of the nic though, it caught me off guard. Update: 30 Jan 2025 - I think this is an everyday smoke contrary to my original post. The more I smoke it the more I love it as my "go to" Burley for the day. All my other Burley's are on the shelf wonder when its going to be their turn to be smoked :)

The New Pipe Smoker's Buying Guide
- ► For what its worth - I reentered the pipe smoking community after many years away and had nothing to bring with me, so I started from scratch. Unfortunately I had a little more expendable income than last time, so I got to experiment a lot at the end of 2024. The choice you had here are good and I actually smoked through many of them. As a re-noob I wanted to throw in some other ideas. I highly recommend the Rossi pipe line. I was able to get a few of them right at the mid range of $50 to $70, if I remember correctly, and they were just outstanding. I wish I would have just bumped up my price range when I first got back into pipes and bought these, because I wouldn't have wasted so much money on pipes that were either poor quality low end or high priced disappointments ($100 range). When I went to the high priced mid-range ($100) the Savenelli's were just outstanding! I felt they were just outstanding quality and sturdier than any of the Petersons I bought.Tobacco's - I quickly moved away from "tasty" aromoatics and got into English. I really liked the Peterson's Early Morning Pipe, but quickly found two nice alternatives if you like things a little smokier than Early Morning Pipe. Arrango Bulkan Supreme and Presbyterian were just outstanding everyday alternatives to Early Morning Pipe. As a noob, I rotate those three all the time and never go wrong. As for Burley's, thats a bit of a struggle, the one I went to first and really like is no longer available - MacBarens Golden Extra. I mucked around and the one that I found, which is a good alternative to Haunted Book Shop, which is one I struggle with, is HU Makhuwa. HU Makhuwa is just a little less harsh than Haunted Bookshop, smoother, with the same ingredients from what I can tell, and for a renoob its an every day Burley Blend that I enjoy. Can't recommend any near straight Virginia's, I'm still not "getting" it. I get no enjoyment out of the flavour or aroma and they just give me a headache. Ironically, I do like Virginia's mixed with other things.Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in from a noob that spent to much money and time trying to figure things out.

A Closer Look At Macedonian Tobacco- ► For what its worth you opened up a geo political nightmare with this article, although for only a small part of the world :) My wife, who is Macedonian, and all of her Macedonian community want to remind the world that this great tobacco was grown in Macedonia not North Macedonia. North Macedonia only exists in a geo political EU dominating world. They will fight you on this until the last puff on their MACEDONIAN pipe :)
