Ashton - Consummate Gentleman 50g
My oh my, Germany has my heart!
K&K/Ashton... what brilliant geniuses. The flavor profile on this tobacco is preferable over all. Sweet/Tangy, little bit of citrus, and a deeeep undertone of true tobacco flavor. Smell it and you can instantly feel the complexity, not one characteristic necessarily comes profusely over one or the others, a true English! Easily my favorite Tobacco so far, none come even remotely close... I suppose I found "The One" Leaves me yearning for more Maryland!
Peterson - Old Dublin 50g
Perfect entry English.
Very early tobacco smoker, as such despite greatly enjoying hearty smokes such as Byzantium which Marty recommended to me, the depth to their flavor and purity of the leaves leaves much to be desired in thoroughly appreciating the intensity of the flavor, this tin leaves nothing to be desired... full of flavor, yet greatly cured to allow little tongue bite even with a novice like myself whom has struggled with the skills of loading/packing/tamping/charring, and keeping the tobacco lit, not to mention the entire lack of understanding perfect moisture preparation and cellaring I can't even comprehend yet. I get full flavor, full enjoyment, I can actually smoke it without getting dizzy and Nic sick, what's not to love? It has the hearty tobacco flavor of Burley, without actually having it and having much more variety of components, so while I enjoy the heavily topped M.M. 150 I also acquired, this is only rivaled by PS41, Pegasus, and 4th Gen Evening Flake to my novice tongue so far. Feared the approach of oriental leaf, and Latakia would be overpowering yet it's flavor profile reminds me exactly of a Honduran black coffee, or a rich Americano Espresso pure of flavor if not desiring the sugary overload of heavy casing.
