Cornell & Diehl - From Beyond 2oz
Really well done blend
After reviewing Jeremy Reeve's video about this year's iteration of From Beyond, I knew I had to order a few tins of this. The aged Latakia from 2004 was so intriguing that I ordered some as soon as I watched the video. I am a big fan of Nightcap, so I knew this was something I needed to try. After smoking a few bowls, I came back and ordered a few more tins just before the supply ran out. If you're a fan of Nightcap and haven't tried this, you owe it to yourself to give this a try if you find it somewhere.
G. L. Pease - Quiet Nights 8oz
My absolute favorite!
Quite Nights is by far my favorite tobacco. I am also a big fan of Nightcap, but the Latakia in this just fills that craving I have for pipe tobacco when I want a good strong English. The nic hit is barely noticeable to me, but I do make sure to eat before smoking a bowl.
Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening 2oz
My favorite aromatic
Autumn Evening is currently my favorite aromatic. It's a nice mild to medium flavor with no discernible nic hit. The flavor matches the tin note, unlike many other aromatics I've tried. The moisture is just about right to me right out of the tin. It lights easily, has consistent flavor and stays lit even without drying before loading the pipe. I sampled this along with this year's variety of Sleepy Hollow, and the Autumn Evening was much better. This is more in line with what I expected from Sleepy Hollow.
Tobacco Jars - PocketJar MAX Smokingpipes.com Orange
Love the MAX size
I have several of the pocket jars, and finally noticed there's a larger MAX size available. This larger size allows me to carry enough tobacco that I don't have to refill every couple of bowls. I can smoke at least 4 bowls from the tobacco this holds. I love that the lids on these work like mason jars. They seal very well, and the tobacco does not dry out, even after several weeks when a tobacco gets overlooked in my regular rotation.
Savinelli - Alligator Brown (316 KS) (6mm)
Even more stunning in person
I'm a huge fan of the Savinelli 316 pot shape. Everything I've smoked in a 316 smokes so well - Nightcap and Haunted Bookshop really shine in this shape. The finish on the Savinelli Alligator is stunning. I thought it looked great on the website, but when I received the pipe and opened the box, I was amazed by the beautiful color and the realistic rustication on this Alligator Brown pipe. I'm so happy I finally stopped coveting this pipe and bought it!
