em. It smells like it is already aged, and from the description, I think that was kind of the point. Upon lighting up, it got almost a citrus tang in the open, very bright and tasty. as the bowl has gone down, the flavors are very smooth and rounded, and very well blended. ood Lat forward, the Perique bringing in a good boost. Continued on to the first Node Gate, programmed the navputer for a short hop to Alpha Centauri, kicked in the FTL. The subtle background Virginias and Orientals began to assert their qualities, banishing thoughts of any overpowering other-worldly harshness. Punched the RTH and finished off with nary a trace of dottle.
Decided a couple of days later that a longer trip might be a good test as well. Pulled my big GBD Colossus ROSE 1759 (2 inch bowl depth and nearly 1 inch chamber diameter is about 3 cu. in. chamber capacity) for a Galactic trip.
This was a pleasure BEYOND...
As one reviewer noted, I now wish I'd ordered twice the number of tins
I will note I did have to laser tentacles on both star system runs. Worth the trouble...

o buy on opening night and held off then bought it from a handful of other online retailers a few days later. So now after many weeks with sufficient time to get a grasp on and get to know this Tobacco. I can give you my HONEST opinion it’s not all bad either. This is interesting stuff I could almost compaire it to the faint taste of both blue berries & salt in a perfect 50/50 harmony one never overpowering the other. It’s a delicate and interesting blend but for me it lacks depth and flavor it seems a bit superficial. It’s not full bodied nor would I consider it rich either. It’s not bad but does it live up to the hype idk does a school bus with a flame paint job live up to the hype? Idk wtf where you expecting from Connell & Diehl? 😂 Its a good attempt at something close to the sophistication of the Skiff or Squadron leader or one of these other classic type English’s. Taste is medium to full and moderately consistent, with notes of tangy raisin, smoky incense, spice, orange peel, wood, toast, lemon grassy, leather, hay, sugar, savory, fermented sour vegetation, spicy, a herbal floral and tart plummy background note, and a peppery retro. The perique really is lovely especially on the retrohale. I smoked this at first in a peterson Dracula and I was just astonished at how the flavors seem to be so well infused with one another. I'm glad I bought five tins. Like anything though, nothing lasts forever. Read Less

a subtle note of dried pear and some notes of fruits of the forest that reminds me of some kind of red wine.
Cut: Ribbon cut.
Aspect: Yellowish brown leaves, light brown leaves, chestnut coloured leaves, Mahagony coloured leaves, greyish-brown coloured leaves and black leaves. The leaves are coated with some fine crystals. The tobacco is a bit on the dry side.
Taste: My impression during sipping the first pulls was that of an aged and nonetheless not really aged English blend. Certain small edges and corners are there. The smoky taste is lovely imbedded. There is a taste like the smell of an alpine meadow with some thyme and just a bit of rosemary. After a pause with cooling the pipe the relight revealed some chocolatey taste that surprised me. During the last third of the bowl the taste becomes more and more harmonious. Some nutty taste emerges and the smokiness becomes less and less.
Overall impression: This is an excellent and balanced blend that I really love. On the way through the bowl it becomes smoother and smoother – even more like an aged English blend. Then it reminds me a bit of my aged Samuel Gawith Scotch Cut Mixture. I think the From Beyond will age well. I can't compare this blend with a really aged Dunhill/Peterson Nightcap. I never had the opportunity to taste an aged Nightcap. Read Less
