Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Ennerdale Flake
Creamy Cane-Sugar and Nutty
My first review. Note that I’ve been cellaring a bulk order in an air-tight mason jar for the past 3 years before opening and the flakes are sparkling full with sugar, and the Lakeland essence has softened a bit. The Lakeland topping shouldn’t dismay you as, although it does sublimate the tobaccos a bit, it isn’t overpowering and lends itself to the experience. I prefer to fold and stuff the flakes but some may not agree. The very creamy, cane-sugar, nutty burley at times, and sweet virginia is experienced from top to bottom. I smoked it rubbed-out in a thin walled Brebbia pot where the flavour was mostly cane-sugar from top-to-toe. Smoking it folded and stuffed in a Savinelli 673 with robust walls was spectacular.
