Cornell & Diehl - Star of the East Flake 2oz
An Instant Favorite
I normally smoke lat-forward stuff in fall/winter, but decided to give this a try early. I can only describe the tin note as “dog jerky,” sort of like Beggin’ Strips if you’re familiar. Very different from what I’m used to (primarily Boswell Northwoods and SPC Plum Pudding). Was concerned for a moment, but loaded it in a clay and WOW, did it open up! Smoky, savory, a nice touch of sweetness with just the right level of floral notes from the Turkish. Not sure I could get it to bite or scorch if I’d tried! I don’t know if anything could unseat Northwoods, but this is definitely gonna be a Top 5 for me in its category.
