Mystery Tobacco Review: April 2020
Welcome back to The Mystery Tobacco Review, the Social Distancing Edition! Tyler Caldwell served as our Inquisitor for this month's review. Ty's a huge cigar buff, and you've probably seen him in one of our cigar reviews, including our new spinoff series, The Mystery Cigar Review. While stogies are certainly his forte, Tyler's been reaching for his pipes more and more these days, so we were extremely excited when he volunteered to select this month's Blend of Intrigue. But nothing's ever simple when it comes to this little game. Tune in as Shane, Truett, and I smoke through a bowl of Tyler's chosen mixture, comment one what we're tasting, and eventually make our guesses — all from our living rooms, dens, and decks. Did Tyler come out of the gate and stump us all with wily antics? Or did our palates win through? Watch the full video to find out.
What did you think of the review? Did you guess it right? Don't forget to share your thoughts in the comments below.
*Due to social distancing guidelines, we reviewed the Mystery Blend completely remotely, so we apologize if the quality is somewhat lacking compared to our normal videos (and also for any awkward pauses, hiccups, or flatulence). Thanks in advance for your understanding.
What is The Mystery Review?
For those of you unfamiliar with this little game, each month one member of our team selects a tobacco for us to review in a blind taste-test. Then we gather around the camera, scratch our heads, and smoke, all while attempting to guess the mysterious mixture's components, origins, and name. There's only one rule: There are no rules.

Great video! Love these mystery reviews.
Andrew's pipe in this one is truly gorgeous.
Love the mystery reviews! Well done guys.
Never stop these mystery reviews. Love watching you guys discuss the blends and try to figure it out. Amazing taste buds! Lol Well done, Mr. Inquisitor Chairman.
Can you give us the blend %?
Best remote Mystery Tobacco Review ever. ;-)
Kept picturing green screen backgrounds behind each of you with differs parts of the country playing on them.
Blending 2 different blends together ...
wicked, wicked, wicked. 😈
I love it when a plan comes together. I'm so sorry that
the guys goofed again. Shane was the closest of the three. Nicely done. Maybe you guys should market that blend so more of us die hard pipe smokers could try it. What do you think? just an idea to kick round during this down time. Take care and stay well.
One of my favorite features on the SP Blog. But, a friendly critique and i hope you take it that way. I would much rather watch you guys respond to an existing and available blend rather than one which is a one time concoction. Could be an obscure blend but one which might generate sales after the reviews. For example, it seemed to me, based upon your initial thoughts, that you might be smoking Dan Tobaccos Milonga as it is a blend with consistent vanilla caramel flavor but is not goopy. Anyway, always enjoyable.
I thoroughly enjoy watching Shane on his videos. The other two in the mystery tobacco segment were great to watch also. Whenever you describe and name a certain tobacco, I have to order it to try it myself. Still trying to find that perfect one for my tastebuds. One that doesn't burn my tongue yet full of flavor. Till the End doesn't burn the tongue, I like it, but could use a little more robust flavor.
