About This Pipe
Many of Peter Heeschen's S-grade pipes that are sandblasted are left natural. Only wax gets applied. From what you can see before your eyes, smoking a briar pipe finished with only wax will color like a meerschaum if given enough time. Indeed; some smokers shy away from them because the initial smokes turn the bowl from virgin to a little 'used', but if smoked regularly, they can turn into well-colored offerings.
