About This Pipe

Castello began using a registered number, off and on) sometime in the early 50's. Logically, you tended to see it more often on shapes where large stamping panels were possible. The full registered number was '66171-66220', but often abbreviated to simply '6671'. There seems to be little agreement as to when the above mentioned stamp disappeared, so there really isn't a concrete limitation that can be derived from this is a regd. pipe. We do know that the "K" grade system (which this briar doesn't possess) was in place by 1980. With apologies for the rather long-winded history lesson, this is a fine example of the vintage Sea Rock, and it probably has at least three decades of use to it.
