About This Pipe
When you see "Special" in an Ardor title/stamp, they are not making a declaration of your opinion of the pipe, but referring to the style of rustication. Fine, tight grooves are carved into the surface, and while the rustication is quite labor intensive, as you can see the results are special indeed. Yet another aspect of this pipe that is special is the shape. I can't recall the last time that I saw this type of elongated goose neck shank from Ardor. Now finish with a cracked amber bit and corrugated sterling. Dang!
