About This Pipe
It says something about a pipemaker's standards when he does not merely refer to a particular grade as "Gold", but indeed denotes it with an actual gold grade-mark, inset onto the briar itself. But then again, the balance and flow, not to mention exquisitely fine and dense flame grain, of a design such as this freehand-style bent dublin easily speaks for itself regardless. Particularly noteworthy of this composition is the manner in which the muscular curve of the shank reinforces the momentum of the entire design, which culminates the sheer, bold forward face of the sharp-heeled bowl. The result helps lend the design a great overall sense of well-anchored dynamism.
